Valérie Gateau, Philippe Amiel and François Doz (coordinator of the "Human and Social Sciences" program) have written a new book entitled "Early clinical trials in oncology: ethics and justice". This book is the the fruit of a symposium held at the Collège de France in 2012 that was supported by SIRIC.
The authors ask a number of questions about the ethics around early clinical trials: how do we allocate places fairly? Should the fundamental distinction between care and research be rethought and if so what would be the consequences on clinical practice?
To celebrate the release a round table was organised at Institut Curie with the help of SIRIC.
Watch the round table hosted by Gérard Lambert (Editions Matériologiques) with Sylvain Besle (Sesstim/Institut Gustave-Roussy), Christophe Massard (Institut Gustave-Roussy), Christophe Le Tourneau (Institut Curie and UVSQ), Philippe Amiel (UMR 1123 Inserm/Paris-Diderot) and Anne Fagot-Largeault (Collège de France, Académie des sciences):
