In 2016 Institut Curie launched the Neo-Elasto clinical trial coordinated by Delphine Sebbag-Sfez.
This trial aims to evaluate the early response to neo-adjuvant treatment in patients with locally advanced breast cancer with 3D shear wave elastography. Elastography measures the initial hardness of the tumor as well as the modifications that occur under chemotherapy. The analysis is performed via an innovative SIRIC-funded ultrasound machine.
The main objective is to establish new evaluation criteria for chemotherapy treatments and to determine whether the use of this technique, developed partly in the frame of the “Imaging” program in collaboration with the Mickaël Tanter’s team at ESPCI will allow the efficient and early prediction of histological response to chemotherapy.
