Structuring actions
At Institut Curie, the label allows us to develop structuring actions that benefit SIRIC teams but also a large number of teams involved in translational research
Support of integrated research programs
Mutualized key posts
The SIRIC budget supports scientific projects via mutualized key posts. These posts are essential for inter-program integration. The posts are engineers, managers, clinical research assistants, post-doctoral researchers and technicians.
Supplies
The SIRIC budget also funds experiments for certain projects via a laboratory functioning budget.
Technological developments
Being able to develop new tools to open experimental fields that were impossible until now is an important challenge for our teams. SIRIC allows the implementation or the reinforcement of expertise on innovative themes by funding manager or engineer posts (e.g. single cell analysis, spatial omics approaches, identification of immunopeptidome, organoid development or new bioinformatic pipelines...).
These postes are generally linked to new or rapidly evolving structures that enrich the panel of technological platforms already available at Institut Curie within in CurieCoreTech network.

Training
Research clinicians are an essential link in the translational research chain. Their detailed understanding of care issues considerably enriches the research team expertise. Unfortunately these profiles are still to rare. In order to make them more accessible, SIRIC funds Master 2 positions for clinicians who want to turn towards a research clinician career.
Funding of inter-SIRIC collaborations
An important part of the budget is dedicated to collaborations within the SIRIC network. The organisation of joint actions facilitates the emergence of projects that couldn't have been carried out at a local level.
